• Ikhfa Letters: (ف ق ك ت ث ج د ذ ز س ش ص ض ط ظ)
• Example: In “مِنْ شَرِّ” (min sharri), the Noon sound is concealed with a nasal tone.

3.2 Izhar (Clear Articulation)

If Noon Sakinah or Tanween precedes throat letters (ء, ه, ع, ح, غ, خ), the Noon is pronounced clearly.

Example: In “مِنْ أَجْلِ” (min ajli), the Noon is articulated distinctly.

3.3 Idgham (Merging Sounds)

When Noon Sakinah or Tanween is followed by specific letters, the sound merges with the next letter.

Idgham Letters: (ي, ن, م, و, ل, ر)

(a) Idgham with Ghunna: 

Applies to (ي, ن, م, و), where a nasal tone is added.

Example: “مَن يَعْمَل” (man ya’mal).

(b) Idgham without Ghunna:

 This applies to (ل, ر), where no nasal tone is added.

Example: “مِن لَدُن” (min ladun).

3.4 Iqlab (Sound Change)

When Noon Sakinah or Tanween is followed by (ب), the sound changes into a hidden Meem with nasalization.

• Example: In “مِنْ بَعْدِ” (min ba’di), the Noon transitions to a Meem sound.

• Example: “قَالَ” (qaala).

(ii) Madd Munfasil (Separated Stretch):

 Occurs when a Hamzah follows a Madd letter in the next word. Lasts 4-5 counts.

• Example: “إِنَّا أَعْطَيْنَاكَ” (innaa a’taynaaka).

(iii) Madd Muttasil (Connected Stretch): 

This happens when a Hamzah follows a Madd letter within the same word. Lasts 4-5 counts.

• Example: “السَّمَاءِ” (assamaa’i).

(iv) Madd Laazim (Compulsory Stretch):

 Stretching is mandatory for six counts when a Shaddah follows a Madd letter.

• Example: “الضَّالِّينَ” (addaalleen).

(v) Madd’ Aridh lil-Sukoon (Temporary Stretch):

 When stopping at the end of a verse, the vowel can be stretched for 2, 4, or 6 counts.

• Example: “قَالُوا” (qaaloo).
